Technology

So I went home and typed in the website the bookworm gave me. It had all the books. For free. I downloaded a couple of books by Sophie Kinsella. Ones I've been dying to read but never saved up enough money to buy them.

I downloaded the Goosebumps and Fear Street series. The ones I didn't get a chance to buy when I was a kid. Now I have them all. And it didn't cost me a dime.

Being a bookworm myself, the fact that I now have access to all the books, made me very excited. That evening I went out with my good friend and told her all about it. Her response was:

"What century are you living in??!! E-books have been available since forever! Even I download them sometimes."

"Really?" I asked her. "So why do people still buy books?"

"Dear," she said. "Have you ever tried reading the e-books?"

"I haven't really got the chance," I responded. "Why? Do e-books not give you the whole story?"

"Oh, they give the whole story, all right," she explained. "Just try reading it."

So I did. I made it until 3 pages, and got tired. My eyes became sore. Sitting in front of a laptop just to read a book, wasn't really much fun.

Reading books should be relaxing, not stressful. Books are handy because they are made to bring everywhere. You don't bring your laptop on a long bus ride, you bring a book.

So much for technology.
